Clearing a post-war garage before the next remodel phase
In a Mill Slough neighborhood garage, the kind built with a 1950s footprint and later patched over for storage, a homeowner had boxed-up flooring, an old refrigerator, broken shelving, and storm-soaked yard debris crowding every corner. The morning felt heavy and damp, and the smell of old cardboard mixed with mildew once we opened the side door. Narrow drive space and low-hanging branches made access tight, and the clutter had started blocking tools, daily parking, and the contractor’s prep work. The whole project was stuck until the waste came out.
We backed in a compact dumpster, protected the driveway with boards, and staged the load so the heavier items went in first. Our crew pulled the refrigerator, broke down the shelving, and kept the debris sorted so the box filled cleanly without wasted space. We worked around the tight turn and kept the path clear for the homeowner’s family. That cleared the garage fast, gave the remodel crew room to work, and let the property move ahead without the pileup hanging over it.
I finally got my garage back, and the remodel could move forward without all that junk in the way.
